Last time I was at Mead some dude blew by me on a Skater at about 120 or better.

Shop insurance before shopping boats. I don't believe anyone is taking cat newbies these days. You might get done on an 80MPH 30' cat and you can work your way up over a few years.

There is a TON of boating on Mead, and lots of fast boats. If you end up being able to beat all of the Guys at Mead then two your boat 2 hours to Havasu and take a shot at those Guys... many, many VERY fast boats.

Sterling will charge a LOT more than that. They charged me $7,500 just to hone/re-ring a 650 HP motor. That wasn't even a complete re-fresh. Same valves, pistons, bearings, springs.

There are V Hulls pulling over 115 on Lake Mead. Seen some Skaters there also. Great Lake to Boat on and Big enough to go fast safely.
