Dont add a 4th send the motors out to have a little work done on them. Diamond marine, or Jay smith. they can bump the HP and make them run really smooth by balancing them. It will be cheaper than a 4th. Not to mention the gas, this motors drink the fuel.

It was one of the very first boats, not #1 though this was a boat called Falcon racing when it was new. It won the triple outboard worlds a few times. It was a full canopy boat when new.

This boat was full canopy when new also. I think I may have been told it was the 4th 36 built. Where are Jay Smith or Diamond marine located?

Jay smith is here in texas. Great guy about half the price of diamond. I had him do mine, balanced and lightned the pistons and rods, top pinned the pistons and added a spacer.

The difference is night and day, they dont shake anymore and they rev twice as fast.

Look on scream and fly they are the outboard site.

Thanks. I have been looking on scream and fly at powerheads for the 2.5. I am not far enough along to buy one yet but as soon as the glass work is done I am going to replace the bad one. I am glad to find out about the slowness of the 300. I was trying to figure my new guage package based around smartcraft. Now I don't have to worry about smartcraft!
