Looks great but be very careful. I saw a guy's arm get severed by a windscreen like that.

Gerry were you standing on my deck taking those pics, wish we had a motor to start saber 101:eek:

Here are some pics of our latest twin engine package delivered to Trinidad. These engines will be installed with the exhaust facing rearward and the inlet forward. The opposite as that in KNOT RIGHT

Very Nice! Very interesting! Gets the engine pointed in the right direction, exhaust exists closer to the transom...farther away from the crew, less noise/fumes. Improved shaft alignment between the crashbox & drive. Ability to drive assessories off the front.
Questions...
Counter rotating possibilities?
How much power does it consume?
Raises cg?
Need to be cooled?

Lot's of great questions? counter rotating possibilities. Yes. how much power doues it consume. Not much. Raises cg. depends. need to be cooled. Yes. Let's talk. Jim Grasham 520-245-2849. www.principlepropulsionsystems.com

Hello my fellow turbinators.

In the never ending plan to create a better turbine boat
lets modify a few things.

In normal boat rigging thinking everyone uses water
to chill things out.

A Turbine does not need water and in a copter there is no water.
The helicopter uses a tube style air to liquid exchanger to cool its
engine oil. the size of this is approx 11x14 and 3 inches thick.

Currently I am using huge 6 inch diameter custom built
28 inch long liquid to liquid coolers, Sea strainers circulation pumps, Skater water pickups 1-1/2 hose gate valves, check valves approx 180lbs per side. How much drag do the water pickups use?

So what if we try to eliminate water in a turbine boat?
I shopped around and Fluidyne make a pretty bad ass cooler
which can be mounted any where.it is 15x15 by 3 inches thick
it is a plate type cooler which is more efficient then tube coolers.

I have decided to mount it where the sound elimination duct work
was. I really never used it anyway.

Here are some shots of the new cooler mounted on isolation dampeners. I will begin the plumbing tomorrow.

My plan is to leave all the original water devices intact and try
this out on one side. The second side incorporates the power steering cooler I sent Gary at Fluidyne some pictures and he can create one of the coolers with a separate small circuit to accommodate the steering. He said they love to help gear heads out.

I am still running the canton oil t stats.
The original setup really never seen oil temperatures above
180-190 I am assuming the dry sump turbine oil system is less
demanding then the piston engine counter part.
Remember 75 percent of the air coming into a turbine is used
for cooling the other 25 for power.

Hope ya just joking  but should it be all true how did it happen and what was the failure ?

Gerry, nice move, a 400 lbs weight savings is excellent ! What size oil lines ya goin to run #10 ? The coolers look nice and beefy ! What are the BTU ratings and what is the fluid capacity ? Lots of outside the engine compartment cool air being drawn in SWEET ;)

it tested well to day I'CE, NOW GO BY THAT 40 footer and put your sut motors in it for the summer.

Knot, got question on vibration mount.

are they rated to hang a unit from them? i always thought they were supposed to have only downward load. the reason i ask is that i have Hardin Marine motor mount on BBCs and they mount the MSD boxes vertically. i've ran into problems when the isolation mounts broke. I've since increased the sized of the rubber mounts.

and in another boat I've been working on, I changed the spare MSD's to a flat mount so just in case so theres less of a chance of having the boxes break off and cause havoc.

it seems from your pictures your hanging the entire cooler and fan assembly.
