Jig

I would say I was ignorant. I thought I could build this cheaper on pice at a time and to be honest it sounded cheaper one part at a time. I tried to build her all out of pocket with out a loan. I really did enjoy buying each part on by one and picking out the parts. I would say that it came in around the same price as if Skater built it at the factory. But it is exactly the way I wanted it.

The transom of the 28

Hi. Great boat, I love the colors. I noticed that the back transom on your 28 is different from other 28's. Why is this?

Ryan Beckley 12-03-2007 12:18 PM

This boat is cut down on the transom for 15" motors....

Few more

3 Attachment(s)
weight w/interior, tanks and some rigging.(cleats, fuel fills, lights, cover) also the rigging that was used to lift the boat.
Front weight was #1025
Back weight # 1250
Total was #2275
I am wondering how that compares to other 28's

Pro1 12-06-2007 11:07 AM

I remember that day. Mine was 3500lbs but its the 32B same no motors drives etc. quater canopies.

wow 2275 is 1200lbs lighter. That is a 28 Skater correct not 30?

23elim 12-06-2007 12:05 PM

yes

Yes it is a 28 not a 30. I dont know when skater changed and stopped putting in a bulkhead behind therear seat with knees that went towards the transom but mine only has a pice of alum that the rear seat bolts to.

Real Nice! Where'd you get those battery boxes?

offshoresteve 12-07-2007 11:35 PM

Why didnt you put the batteries forward?Nice rigging job, very clean and tight.

23elim 12-08-2007 09:14 AM

I bought the battery boxes from Dana Marine. I didn't want to drill into the core in the floor so I bought the stringer mount plate and then bolted the battery box to the stringer mount.
I never really thought about putting the batteries up foward until I talked to Marty @ Diamond after it was done.
