I use to own this boat and actually raced it for a year with the APBA in P1 class back in 1999 or 2000 with 900 HP blower motors, then sold it to Roger . This was a very fast and light weight 32 . Like they said GET some seat time in it and you will love this boat .

Skater - What did it run back then? I am definetly going to learn the ropes before opening her up. The guy I bought from has the old 36' Hoist boat. He can learn me good.

I can imagine. It can get a little squirrly. However isnt the tunnel on the 32 considerably smaller than the larger ones of today? Meaning the rear wont drift as much.

When Steve Murray owned the boat,I personally saw speeds over the 125 MPH mark.At 100 with some positive trim and a hand full of throttle,it would stand up on the drives,sweet boat and good luck.BE SAFE.

With Mercury 17.5 x 34 4 blade labbed props we would see ( GPS ) speeds in the mid to upper 130s , but we never set it up for a kilo run to see what the top speed really was. This 32 like most 32s DON'T like too much positive trim , so AVOID that or it will hook hard to the left .. Hot boat magazine did a big article on this boat when it was new . It was built for guy in Canada with 800 HP Mercury " class1 " fuel injected racing motors and in their test I believe it ran 131 MPH.

Thanks Skater. Why the hard hook to the left with too much trim? Also, I would love to get my hands on that old HotBoat article. Does anyone know where I can hunt one down?

With a high X demension the props are already half way out of the water at high speeds and if you over trim the boat the the prop will walk on top of the water and pull the back end of the boat around . The larger the diameter of the prop the more it will walk the boat . I have been in three different 32 s and they all did it " IF " over trimmed. And if I remember right they all had 17.5 diameter 4 blade props.
As for the magazine article , I will try to dig up what issue it was in. Then I would think if you called HOTBOAT they will send you back issues.
