Jack Plates
 

I think I'm going to keep my 250SXs on my 28 Skater for now and save the bucks. I would like to get 2 to 5 more MPH out of it. Now I'm getting 98MPH at 6200RPM and it's not easy .Would Jack plates help ,and what about the 4 blade props from Throttle Up I'm hearing so much about .Do they work? Thanks Frank

ANY outboard can get gins from a Jackplate !!!! What size boat do you have ? I have said this before and have many hours of prop testing in my race boat , the ONLY time more blades will help is if you have a high slip # , and cats don't for the most part . If fact more blades = less MPH most of the time . If you want a holeshot , or pin to pin speed , more blades are the answer .

Thats cheap , they list for 300 each . I paid 1500.00 for a pair os Stainless CMC plates , just wanted to be sure that a 300 won't fall off in the Rough ! On a 28 youll be fine , the Transom will fall off first in really rough stuff ( 4 ft plus )

Might want to consider hydraulic jack plates. They offer the best of both worlds.
Down for take off... Up for speed. You can't beat it.

With manual jackplates, the setting for best top end may make it tough or impossible to get on plane.

I had a hydraulic unit on a boat years ago and had a friend with the same boat/same setup but manual jackplate. The difference was night and day. It's one of those things that is win-win. the only drawback is the added cost but well worth it IMO.

Are these 6" set backs? If so I would be interested in them. How much for shipping to 33904.
