Question for you guys, how do you like turning the boat at slow speeds?

Boat turns fine ,only negative outcome is it takes a longer to get on plane. Boat used to "pop" on plane now it planes out like a normal performance boat.

Turning mine in it seemed to take alot of the "hop" out of the boat. The only problem w/ spinning mine in is the shifters are backwards, I need to figure something out without having to re-rig the boat

All you need to do is swap the cables on the shifters:drink:

Yes I am out there a good bit. What kind of boat did you buy?

30 Spectre with 300XS's, I'm still getting seat time right now. I will be out there about every weekend!

Hi Steve, I was out quite a bit on Saturday, I have a little cat experience with a 25. This 30 is a little different, but I'm taking my time and will until I get I get a little more seat time. I have to take my daughter out this Saturday on her new tube with my 23 Stingray but I will be out all next weekend. Look out for the Stingray it's about a 60mph rocket!!!!!!

I see 10-12 lbs in flat water. Usually however the water here isn't flat so with the spikes I'll see 12-15.

How are the 300xs's working out for you, any issues yet?

Along with the powerhead that blew @ 26hrs , add a sportmaster that blew Sat @ 60hrs total time.

300XS on my fishing boat:
1 starboard powerhead around 50 hours
1 port lower around 75 hours
1 starboard lower around 100 hours

Damn, and your not putting the stress on the motors like a 28 Skater will. Have you talked to other center console owners with 300xs? Is this a Mercury Quality cotroll issue or what??

At 1st I thought it was my "magic throttle arm" but I'm not so sure about that any more...

There was a lot of prop and motor height trial and error when I first got the boat so that may have some thing to do with it I'm guessing. I haven't blown the same part twice since I got it set up right but without a doubt added the extra 2 year extended warranty ($6600 2 years for both motors).

Is it a Mercury warranty ? Did not know they extended out two years further.I had been told 1 year for 4k for both motors. Who do I talk to about a 2 yr for $6600 warranty ??
