Dave did you design the pods using any test method (computer formula)or just the trial and see method (your brain and fortitude)? I wonder what would be the result of no pods? Are they needed to increase water flow/pressure just before the speedmaster water inlet's. You will definitely be faster by allowing more air under and through the tunnel giving you more lift. You may also have to lower the engines (drives too high) due to that lift. I can't wait to see the results. Good luck!

I was wondering how long it would take you guys to see the parallel. ;)

its actually very hard on the mid section on ob's mounted in the tunnel. In general Davids in largely uncharted territory with a quad ob 36 but we knew those things were way to big. After talking to anyone that had experience in this area we went with the smallest possible profile and eliminated any compression betwen the pods and the sponsons, focused purely on deflection from the cav plates up.

there were afew suggestions to run without the pods but I know from experiance with an older 24' cat (not Skater) that had motors tight in the tunnel and blew out mid sections regularly.

Wow! That should make for one heck of a diffrence in handling and performance. I look forward to your sea trials Superdave.

Thanks Bob, we're hoping, big time this gives me a chance to dial in using conventional means ie props and engine height, not bags of sand. :angry-smiley-044:

I received my newly shortened (again) tie bars back from Latham Marine today I decided to tighten the distance between each engine. . Latham is outstanding to work with, my contact there is Tom Gongola. Their prices are reasonable. Their work and service is second to none

Latham does excellant work and Tom is a great guy. He was a big help in getting Sam his parts for the pumps.
