Skater setback
Quick history:1990 Skater24,twin 225 Promaxs,1.87 gears,Merc lab 34 four blades,6200rpm,at 102.
I'm using a lot of trim and need the advice of someone who has had experience with this boat or possibly the 28' Skater.
I think that it would benifit from 10"s of set back?
Any recomendations for set back brackets?

I have a 24 Skater with twin 225 Pro Max's. I have them on 6inch mechanical jack plates and have 1.875:1 gears and 14.5 X 30 Merc labbed props. With 2 full tanks of fuel and 5 people int eh boat with neutral to slightly negative trim I am inthe 96 to 97 MPH range. With 2 people and slightly positive to neutral trim well over 100. Unfortunately, the speedo only goes to 100 so I do not have a specific top end. The motors are at 1.25 inches off the botom I believe. I am spinning the props out as well. I am also set up conservatively. When you put motors on jack plates, i.e. setting them back, the handling changes dramatically. Just be aware of that. If you have any other specific questions please let me know. I hope this helped.

Skaterfest, I have 2.5 carbs spinning 14.5 x 34 cleavers at about 6300 and I'm right at 100, I'm 1 1/2 inches above the bottom of the boat with no set back. On the 24 you should use very little trim to achieve top end, good luck.
