This was at the LOTO Shootout 2011 with 1.1 gears and 38 pitch props only turning 5800 rpm through the speed traps.
Once he got forged props he hasn't had any blades break. The boat has roughly 120 hours on it now and the #6 drives are holding up great. The motors make 1600 @ 13psi and believe me thats all a 388 needs!
Planning on hitting the LOTO Shootout this year with a better one mile setup.

Looks and sounds great. As for the power vs the drives I find it funny most big power boats making upwards of 1400+ hp use the SSM 6 drive and have little or no issues, yet when Mercury was testing the 1350 TT package they kept breaking them, hence the developement of the stronger, thicker M8 drive.
Anyways, great run, just another 22 mph needed to get Chip Romer's record...

The Mercury 1350 TT has more torque than most 1400+ motors make. Torque is what breaks the drives. Even at 1600 hp the torque is less than the Mercury. Chips boat was defiantly dialed in last year and hats off to him!
