That book is from 1956.....

It's a preferred core material for many boat builders, because it is much easier to get a good core bond with end grain balsa then with a foam core.

Hey Blum..........Long Time Buddy

Is not true that Pete takes his 40 Super Sport and builds on a 4' deck/tunnel extension = 44' (1st edision Teague 44) and then years later took his 40 Super Sport "plug" (2' on the front & 2' on the back, re-bluepinted the bottom) and built a brand new 44 Super Sport "tool" then builds on to the NEW Model a 4' deck/tunnel extension = 48' ? These extensions add alot more value into the boats over all.

I'll agree with that, and also much better job security cause when they rot or the tanks go bad, whichever comes first, people need a new one. Mti's will live longer than their owners :party-smiley-004:

That is as long as there are no delam issue like the few that have occurred. I agree that from a structural standpoint that a foam can be better, but the price of a screw-up can be high. I would like to do some experiments with some test panels and see what kind of results we can get from the various cores that are available other than the end grain balsa.

The 1350s are very quiet, this boat was bought by a fellow from six nations indian reservation, it runs around in the bay where my cottage is in turkey point ontario canada, it runs around 125mph and doesn't move in 5 footers, at 125mph I bet your whiskey wouldn't even slosh around. Awesome boat!!

The 482 SS is a friends boat. My buddy is the driver. Thing will go WAY past 125. He is a certified captain, but he refuses to run it over 135! He's been there and thought it was getting light. He's use to running the 92 foot, or the 50 Fountain. It is an awesome piece along with the other 5 boats they have sitting in Dover.
