24 Skater - Bravo 1s

I got tired of fighting with my outboards and converted my 24' Skater to twin stern drive. 2 all aluminum 5.3 LS engines with bravo drives.
Here is a picture that's not real good.

another picture that's not very good...
It's still under construction but close enough to go to the lake.

Nice! How fast?!

timmoore 07-23-2012 01:39 PM

Right at 103 on the limiters... 29 pitch outboard cleavers on limiters at 6100. The motors are bone stock right now. This winter I'm going to put cams intakes and maybe heads on them and try to spin some 32s to 6500. The fuel mileage is unreal! right around 5mpg at 70.

That's awesome!

Very cool.

Got any pics of the engine bay? What are you using for exhaust manifolds.

.

wow, this is awesome!

can you give more details on the engine?

Also, do you have pics of the repower build?

and like he said, show us pics of the engine bay.

very interested in LSx engines.

how have the B1 been holding up, it's a light enough boat for the B1s

how did you lay down the new stringers

.

Why were you fightting with the outboards?

Thats awesome! Imagine a 28 with the same setup?!?

I had Bridgeports on it and was at a point where I needed to buy new motors. The transom was soft, and I was tired of trying to find outboard parts.
I'm using Crusader manifolds with risers we built. The engines are all aluminum 5.3s like in GMC Envoys, they are take outs with about 30k miles on them - bone stock.
We've had the boat out 3 weekends with no troubles at all and have ran it pretty hard. The Bravos seem to be fine so far. I figure I'll have to put 1 1/4" prop shafts in them at some point, I have them set at 1 1/2" above the bottom. I also used input shafts for the IMCO extension boxes and have the motors a foot further forward than a normal Bravo install.
I'll get some better pictures soon, these are just some that I have laying around.
