I still think to date the 36 Skater that I had ( Bacardi Silver) is still the only piston Skater or MTI to go over 200

I was told be several people that Dave Scott's 44 MTI on alcohol ran well over 200.

OVERRULED!!!!:party-smiley-004:

Yes it is, which is why I was hoping Dave might see this and give us the real story.
Being a little biased, I tend to believe it. Given that he seemed more excited about the piston boat than the tubine boat back then. And knowing the tubine went well over 200 many times.

Yes Bob's pleasure boat is his old race boat, no one has tried to claim other wise. That is why it is listed for sale as a 2008 model. Not sure why it would matter as the race boats have the same bottom as the pleasure boats. It might be a little heavier do to the conversion.
Also it is still a Rudder boat. That is simple because Bob likes the feel of a Rudder boat. It doesn't make it any faster, in fact some think it slows acceleration because of the lack of trim range. I really don't know what it had as far as power for the shootout, and I would bet that no one on here KNOWS for sure either. They might have ideas, but Randy and Bob would never leak that info. I do know of several things done prop and rigging wise that helped increase the speed dramatically. :party-smiley-004:
I'll let everyone else figure out which boat is fastest. I've got to figure which MX bike will make my kids faster.lol:ernaehrung004:
Michael

I was looking at those props a few days ago...:lolhit:

ron, that's what your girlfriend says... oh, wait -- that was another conversation... something about 4 inches!!!! :-)

i don't know how your rudder boat ran, except when lance and bullock ran it... but my 36 started to get a little loose as it approached the mid 150's --- on rails at 151-152.

joe

ps: where did your vhull go... abroad?
