New to me 32 Classic
2 Attachment(s)
Found me a cat on OSO. Picked this up at Lake Cumberland the other day. She seems to be in very good condition for her age(1994). I think what sold me on this Skater was the fact that she has 2003 300X's that were never even broken in. I hooked up the smartcraft module to the starboard motor and it confirmed 27 of 60 minute break in. I hope I was reading it right. I will be doing the final rigging with the help of a local shop to make sure all is well with the motors.
I would like some opinions on what to look for on 300x's that have set up for 11 years. I want to use her for the summer and then start the restoration this next fall and winter, if I decide to keep her. It's not the 28 I was looking for, but I couldn't pass up this deal for a starter cat. Here she is. |
.
that's an awesome boat! please show us more pics and videos as well as the interior |
Pretty Skater - Congrat's.
27 minutes of run time is equated to a barn find...as long as the cylinders were spun regularly (and wet w/ oil) |
Boat looks nice. A real classic.

I passed on it because of this. The previous owner did not remember if fuel was left in the motors or how it was pickled for the lay up. I would have mechanic go thru engines first. But it is an amazing find in excellent condition.
Good luck

This is the interior. I haven't decided whether it will be best to replace the gold bezel's or just have some gold caps placed on my front teeth to match the gold bezel's. I've got a call in to my dentist.
Anyone know what some antique skater seats in perfect condition might be worth? |

wow, I can't believe how new your boat looks, it's as if it was placed inside a time capsule ! . |

Bring that bad boy up to Arkansas and I'll hook you up with a new "Grill" to match and we can go run her. Those actually are actually the original Skater dual purpose great running and beer drinking bolsters. Don't ask me how I know.
You are right, a grill would probably be better than caps for business and all, and shame on you Skate for even suggesting someone might have a beer on the lake. Shameful I tell ya... |
Pimpin Puzzy Cat
Looks Sweet! |
Those are killer seats...leave em in!
|
Great find. Enjoy.
|
You gotta keep the seats!
|
A Miller Lite in a foam Koozie will fit perfect between those bolsters and the console and stay there thru 4'ers!

boat looks like a classic for sure. Same seats as my 28 (aka beer barrel seats????:lolhit:)
I would pull your suction return fuel tank covers and look at the tanks asap. this is what mine looked like and they were not suppose to be epoxy tanks (I checked with peter before I purchased) and they were not suppose to have had any ethanol ever put in them. I believe harry when he said he never put any in them, but I do not believe any stations when the advertise non-ethanol gas! |
So it was a triple converted to twins?

Too soon to tell what the big plan is. If I decide to keep her around it will be a full restoration. Tripps would be interesting.

Or if you really want to crank it up, the Skater 32 Race Pleasure has the versatility to handle up to twin Mercury Racing HP900SC motors with a pair of Dry Sump Six drives that produce speeds exceeding 160 mph. The 32 Race Pleasure is built like our big boats with a laminate of vacuum-bagged epoxy resin, S-glass and balsa coring. For exceptional strength, the transom is supported with four knees and there are six structural bulkheads and five intermediate frames. Twin 115-gallon fuel tanks mean fewer trips to the fuel dock.
