Actually in Stuart FL at their world famous sandbar. Really nice area.
The boat looks really nice with the new graphic's package ... :) For future reference, that's the "family" sand bar . If you were to follow those other boats north and took the next left .. it is at times, a bit more ... hedonistic ... Just don't go much past the Walgreen's Mansion ( on the point ) it get's a little shallow ... http://i217.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps2a352807.jpg |
Will definitely have to check that out next time. My buddy mentioned it but we did not have much time to hang out. Just did a quick stop. Actually had launched up on the Okeechobee River. Ran 75miles for the day.

Finally got my gear cases installed after REM polishing the gear sets. Looks like a great enhancement for our gear cases. Reduced friction, heat and better oil adhesion. Look up "Remchem.com" for some info if your interested. We have a guy in OKC that does Nascar, Indy, F1 on about any gear on them. Took it out today for the first time this year. Port motor is still in break-in from the "pow" last fall. I also got an accurate weight on the boat with some auto racing corner weight scales - 3,931# , empty fuel tanks, 3 gallons oil, props, (two heavy optima batteries, and Verado power steering). Also installed a Garmin 7610 chart plotter. The screen is a bit washed out compared to the 740 it replaced - maybe I need to adjust the contrast??
|
Hey David,
Glad to hear you are back on the water. How did you weigh the boat with the scales under the wheels? What about the front of the boat where the trailer jack was? Lastly did you weigh the trailer separate.? Regarding the Garmin I am surprised that the unit is washed out. I will take a look at one next time I have a chance. There are some settings for the charts and safety contour settings. That may change the overall look. Try checking the brillance too. See if it is set to auto or manual and try adjusting it. I do think they have a contrast setting for the chart plotter section other than day or night mode. |

thats 5% slip better than I ever had!
|
you and me both brother!
|
Yep, I need to double check my numbers! I have always been below 8 to 9 % slip. I think that the boat is doing better though. I'll be more precise next week. I have always hade pretty low slips. May be when I get closer to top end sip will increase??? All chime in. I am not a fat head, just posting what is see and like feed back!

Ron, I put the 4 scales at the most remote corners of the trailer with the front scales at the transition to the tongue, weighed the boat with the trailer, then only the trailer at the same locations. I wanted to try to measure the CG, but could not make that happen. The jack was not an issue because of 4 scales on the trailer ( jack off the ground). Ran the boat again the PM again today, 103 MPH at 5350 RPM. look forward to break in! It does accelerate better! 93 MPH in approx. 1200 feet with the 34.5 Dewalds. Conditions were prime! My water pressure was 14 PSI +, so going to raise the motors up another 1/8" and see. Let me know what you can on the Garmin. Thanks, David

Your probably right! I was being very careful wit my engine parameters . I don't want to trash another one. I'll re check and post! Thanks guys! I'll need is help!

I agree with Dale. My numbers run around 7-8 percent also. I just looked up the weight on my boat again and it was 4230lbs no fuel 6 gallons oil. I think the difference in our boats is the rigging, options, tool box. I think it is safe to say Dale has a lightweight speedster. Will need to overcom weight with some more ponies.
Question is where are they going to come from OLD school or NEW school you never know! |
1 am new at this HP boat stuff. I have been a "seat of the pants" MX'r for my life and a car racer my older half. I am just trying to learn... Please don't think I want to be the bad ass! I want to have fun wit you guys1

Here are my new tie downs thanks to Tyson showing us what he found. I was able to find them on the web and ordered 4 new ones. I went overkill with 2" ones but I think they can never be strong enough.
Thanks Tyson for sharing the find! |

It's really hard for me to get accurate numbers dodging Seadoos and party barges running every where all the time. You guys have fun with your rigs. I'm going to add a big stereo, a full tank of gas, six butts and go have fun!

Thanks for sharing. Did the DCB run at all? The Dcb did not run, it was too choppy for that shallow of a tunnel. |

Thanks John, boat's running good for now. We just rebuilt a steering ram due to a leaky seal and had to get some work done on the left hand lower. We got back on the water this weekend and ran 100 across the bay in 15-20mph winds with Warren and I don't think we broke anything (that I know of yet). Planning on doing some SeaDek very soon to get rid of the carpet and give it a nice customized look. I'll post pics once it's done.

The custom Sea-Dek flooring that's taken about 4 moths to go through the process of getting right will be here Thursday for my 28. I'll post pics after I get it installed this weekend. Be prepared for a lot of back-and-forth with Sea-Dek to get what you want.

Seriously? They didn't run the M29 because it was too rough? Obviously they knew it wouldn't run well in those conditions, so they left it on the trailer. Any under-30' boat with a pair of those 700# pigs on the back will not work well in the rough - regardless of tunnel depth.
