Probably made of unobtanium. I almost bought a Velocity with twin montys but opted for one with 260s'. It was quite a handful for a newb with no experience to performance boating.

Are you guys sure? It's got John-Rudes on it, I thought that was illegal.

We are sure yes, but please note it is about to heave itself on to the rocks in shame. This is the equivelant of Hari Kari for boats.

Yes that boat is wood as are all of the Argentinian hot boats. They also build larger models and are not uncommon as a few of them run in x-cat .

What's the advantage of building them out of wood?

I'm associated with this builder who with a little convincing can build your SOB cat designs.

Let's try it!

I have a builder with 30 outboard molds with full composite schedule and he needs no convincing. I just need mo money. He was ready to build me one 10 yrs. ago. I just need mo money. I never stated I wanted a single true tunnel. I have always owned and liked twins......................

what size cat where you planning to build first ?

.

bulletbob 06-17-2014 07:17 AM

He has already built several 30s' with i/o power and 300 promaxes which he states ran 107 with the outboards years ago. I have no reason to doubt him. It's 40k in materials alone for the full composite layup his cost. I wanted a 30 something in a true tunnel configuration, but it will probably be cheaper to buy a used DW and modify to my Specs as Don has don with his. Dons' is the first 30 DW built which Gary Ballough throttled to an undefeated season. Don't ask me what year. Aren't you getting a Predator built Noli?

noli 06-17-2014 07:36 AM

.

yes, I'm building a C30 outboards

when I get pics I'll PM you some as there is no Predator owner's thread here in OSO.

I might start a thread in SnF.

$40K in materials is pretty good. Have any pics of the 30 that he has built several years ago?

Dd24skater 06-17-2014 08:07 AM

The thirty-two with the V-8s was later converted to a #5 I/O boat....if that make you feel better. Built some tabs for it a while ago.

any pics of this bad boy anyone?

cowisl 06-17-2014 09:25 AM

Bill Marriot had a 32' with V8s on Lake Winnipesaukee. Sold it for dust a few years ago

Double Rigged 06-18-2014 01:52 PM

:ban:Noli, Do make us ban you from our thread. If it is not a Skater and has outboards we don't care. Only outboard Skater owners can post that kind of crap! LOL......

noli 06-19-2014 12:53 PM

how extensive was the damage? Any pics?

.

LAriverratt 06-19-2014 01:12 PM

scream and fly had a thread with all the info...http://www.screamandfly.com/showthre...ghlight=skater a lot of pics are gone now though

Double Rigged 06-19-2014 01:37 PM

yes that is the boat. It was redone down here and sold by the owner that had redone it to someone in Miami who has had the boat for about 2yrs or so. There was a big thread on S&F about the accident and rework. I believe all the work was done down here and not at Skater. Maybe the original work in 2008 but not sure about that. I saw the boat in person 4yrs ago just after the rework.
The interior was done by Mike at Fineline.

noli 06-19-2014 02:14 PM

.

...I found his build pics that are no longer being shown , but not sure if owner wants it publicized :(

repairs looked major...but, everything is fixable... :)

The pics show Skater fiberglass being grinded, made me cringe, but I'd still buy it if I was a Skater bro :)

When Dave owned the boat it was rear ended by a large truck, came off the trailer and surfed down the guardrail. The damage was extensive, especially to the bottom. I believe Active Thunder did the repair work.
