Can the Nydacore material be butted together and glassed over on each side and still achieve structural rigidity with the finished piece? To say it in another way, does the "joint" in the core weaken the composite with glass faces at the core joint or is the strength achieved with the glass skins in the same way as a steel beam relies on the flanges for bending strength and the web is there just to separate the flanges?

If it helps at all David there is a 1-2" flange
Around the perimeter of the glass hatches from
Skater that does supports alot of the hatch strength
An keeps it rigid,

Skate, That tread was not found?? Tom, I was trying to make the hatch similar to my small w/ seat hatch which is a cored material approx. 1" thick and really light. I just an trying to figure out how to cap the edges and make a splice with the core material to make the size panel I need.
