Finally got the decals on the motors today. Ryan did an awesome job of matching the paint work. Had the done with blue on one side and red on the other to match the color schemes on both sides since it has a reverse paint job.
Also adjutsted water pickups back up to flush with bottom. Heading out in the am to see if we are ready to start dialing this thing in. Props coming from all over next week! :boat: |

Well after a shortened test day due to a problem with oil injection tank not getting filled due to a check valve gone bad. We were able to get a few runs in anyway.
Here is a pic of where I was with the pick up before the last mods to the lower units. Here is where we ended up in order to maintain temp at high speeds. Note the pick up is only sticking down about a 1/4". Big improvement although not quite there. I am going to widen notch in bottom to match 1" pipe and lengthen the lead in to the pick up a bit. However with the pick up set as in the last pic we had tested two sets of props. These props are not what I call top speed just a starting point. Conditions: 85 degrees/80 percent humidty/Fresh Water/Glass Calm. Engine height 1 7/8", Prop test 1: 29" Dewald 5 Blade Thru-hub Cleaver with slighty rounded tips. Boat ran 104mph @ 6400rpm with 3 people, 60 gallons fuel, cooler and tool box etc. Slip was less than 5%. Not a bad run I thought. Prop test 2: 30" Mecury 3 Blade Cleavers. Boat ran 102mph at 6300 rpm. Same load. Slip was 7.5% Took some video will post soon. Going to work on pick ups a bit more, raise motors 1/2" and get some big diameter Dewalds to try. I think an everyday 108 is possible and somewhere in the teens on a cold day light load. Acceleration with the 29s is really good. Stay Tuned |
Test Run 29" Pitch Dewalds Pick Ups down 1/4"
