More Lower Unit Mods

4 Attachment(s)
A few pics of the lower units getting bored out to accept a true AN16 fitting no adaptor or restrictions. This should add a lot more flow to the water pump.
Looking forward to testing end of the week!

DR,

upgrades are looking great!

Fuel fills. That's the rear seat tipped forward. Tru hull pickups are to the stern a little ways.

I would like to see how they run also. Being there is no notch in my hull I only have 3 inches of setback on the jackplates. All parties concerned felt if it would hit decent numbers without them they wouldn't put any brackets in. The CG is perfect and it handles better without them. I was curious about the top end increase that can come with the setback. I know from speaking to the orignal owner of the DCB that boat had a notch and 12 inch brackets along with jackplates. They brought the motors in closer on 5 inch brackets as the motors ran better that way. Didn't like a ton of setback. Just curious if it would be worth trying it out one day. Steve.

Were most of the notched transom boats not oriented around the 280's with the 15" legs?

As this boat was constructed around 20" mid section from the beginning, it would be an interesting question as to Why Peter did not opt to put a notch on Nasty's build. Peter generally has sound reasoning for his engineering/construction....
