Very nice guy ! I talked to him in staging ,He ran the lake race in his boat

Good to see you and Jenn again! It would be fun to get us and the two "Jenn's together for some fun in the future. Outstanding run!

Could plan an O/B event the weekend before in upper Keys! What do you all think?

It is more often than not, windy and rough in the keys in November.

There seems to be enough of these running around to plan an event on the right body of water during the right time of year.

I don't want to be beat to death in mine. It's not a rough water boat but a great "light chop" boat.

LOTO shootout week Thursday morning dam to dam (92 miles each way) would be the perfect venue.

Looking into Jax as well

Craig andI took ours down to KW last year during the races. Middle of the Keys was awesome. Once you get to KW no place to go and water is weather dependent. The weather sucked last year and we used them very little.

Tom -

Watched the run on Youtube. Fantastic.

It's great to know I have a 28 Skater expert just a few hours South of me if I need one :)

Happy Boating.

Which was the fastest, the 24 or the 28 with the same motors?

AZMIDLYF 09-04-2016 10:48 AM

The 28 by a couple mph.

I ran the 24 last year 122 mph ! That was with lots of setup time water ramps , I think the 28 will deff be faster
When I get a little more time in it

It was up on top nicely for that last run. Prop change or something else?

Nice Pair 09-24-2016 12:12 PM

I linked this from Pete's site, https://www.facebook.com/Shoot-2-Thr...0528070292399/

Looked a little cleaner to me ............ could be faster too! ;-)

Hey guys it’s been awhile but I thought I would share the new interior done bye waves and wheels ,seats built bye Chris mills
all carbon frount seats , partial carbon in rear seat ,new lite weight side panels,
Shaun wanted to try them out for his new Skater .

Congrats on the beautiful interior. Along with myself I'm sure everyone here was pulling for you in the shootout. Did you break a prop shaft or did a powerhead let loose? I have broke a prop shaft at 50 mph and blew a motor at 155 mph. Both instances fortunately were uneventful but my cat never pulled to one side nor did my friends Skater. I look forward to hearing your response.

unfortunately the port motor went into guardian mode shut down ,an the starboard was trying to torque it to the left
as you could see . I am pretty confident Sundays Run would’ve been much better than Saturdays if that did not happen!!!

Glad to hear it wasn't anything major. Hopefully it will be a relatively inexpensive fix.

Nice Runs! The boat looks awesome!

We finally got ours on the water, and other than the Mrs not liking the 2 stroke smell, everything went well. Might be selling a set of 300x's (2004 with Smartcraft) this winter! They were rebuilt by Ted Gryguc about 50 hours ago Home

If you make it to the lake again, let me know. I'd love to get some pointers from you on the water, as this is my first cat.

You may want to take the Tres Martin course. A little spendy, but so is your life! I learned alot from the course. He is also now offering a free Lifeline vest with the course.

.

Ted builds amazing Merc 2 Strokes...absolute guru with the 2.4/2.5's in their heyday for power and reliability, and now on the F courses - if you were beat by a black O/B , it was probably a Speedmaster engine. Wasn't unusual to see southern US bass Boats getting tweaked there.....arrived stock, left appearing stock but screamed power, or maybe not even close in appearance to a bass engine - LOL

Apologies for the derail to Tom's thread - beautiful update to your 28'

tom kennedy 08-30-2018 09:47 PM

Thanks for the compliments guys ! turned out very nice and lost alot of weight
unfortunately it was not a good year at the shoot out ! O well it was still a good time

From where I was watching, you had a great Shootout! You went sideways twice, and both times your instincts kicked in and it was no big deal. Could have been horrible.
