that's pretty neat then!

he told me a story about racing it I think down here at lake pontchatrain when the boat was pretty new before the sport master lowers were on the 2.5's....they were waaaaay out in front of everyone, then of course a lower let go LOL.

is that rope at the water line holding the outboard to the transom?

Looks like bungee's it seems like A LOT of the older outboard boats did that, I'm assuming to help the brackets and trim keep the motors in when coming in and out of the water while racing. Not sure if it just wasn't necessary or people like the ability to trim all the way up because no one seems to do it anymore.
