[QUOTE=cowisl;4553262]I have used Vermont plastics to make various windshields for me. Might be a good supplier. They used to make all of Outerlimits windshields. Check them out.

thks
im in Houston tx and here is all the manufacturing corps and distributors u could imagine,,,
im 1 of them for custom fiberglass composites,(miffco since 1982)
and have contacts with the acrylic industry as I have accounts and made molds for them in the past
1st 1 as stated was a hurry to get on so no distributor had the thickness,length,30%tint and version of acrylic in stock I wanted
so went with the 8 ' they had,,,,i can get delivered anything I want to my shop pre cut to my specs for less waste when trimmed in mold

this winshield was started as glyn wanted 1 on his 28 we put together last winter
aero wanted good money for theirs and he tried for 3 months to get them to send him 1 and they never did
I got the boat all rigged ,mounted motors, wired, plumbed, ect up and running and still no shield so just made my own version for him
this will be less expesive and its lots more aesthetically correct to the hull than the straight glass withg metal brackets
this will have nothing to corrode and simple mounting,,,,,,
in a few weeks I will have the next 1 made up and mounted and know my final cost to give a solid price

Besides the expense, which is substantial, what reason would a guy not go with the Jim Lee designed windshield?

For me, the expense, 20 k plus for the beautiful, Jim Lee, Boat Customs, deck modification, windshield. It's is great, but it's 20 k plus.

Well said. It is a beautifully integrated shield but it still comes down to being a lot of fuel$$$$ you could be pushing through the injectors!

I have the BC's Lee Areospace windshield on my 308 and we love it. By we I mean the wife can now go with me while wearing her big hat to protect herself from the sun. So I get to boat more. We also can talk to anyone in the boat at anytime at speed. It just makes the boat chave a completely different feel.

I love the new 28 windshield John came up with. It should be more than enough for a 28'. For the 308 there are other issues in which I think the BC's Lee Areospace resolves very well.

I cannot give Chris Mills a high enough recommendation for his work.

I got to drive Skates boat 24 miles, at the speed I wanted, the seating, controls, and windshield, are excellent. As are the paint, and wiring. Thanks Sam

skates boat turned out awesome
followed his resto thread
the 20 for the winshield conversion is just the icing when adding in new paint, dash reconfiguring, interior, ect

on this shield I designed to bolt on to original hull
and tks guys for kind words,,,,im a fabricator so just what I do,,,,
I went to my thermo guy yesterday and got sheet size demensions for clear and tinted
got with them on trimming and the base bevels I want as I like it to fit flush to hull and not the glass thickness sticking up
so should have 2nd 1 done in couple weeks to show
