Yes, please post details here for us that do not use facebook. Good luck, looks like a lot of structural work (imagine the force that caused that). Very interested to see the details / progress.

you would think. There is not a single crack on the running surface. All the damage is very localized. Later this week we will start the bulk head repair and start re shaping the front of the sponson to pull a tool off for the running surface and hullside. So there will me more pics to come !

Deconstruction has started ! Figured the front is going to take us the longest so might as well start there. Chased a little bit of wet core but cut it all out so time to layup some panels and get to work

First of 6 vacuum bagged Bal-tek panels being cut and mocked. This panel is the only true “straight flat” panel on the boat so we are using this panel to start to work out dimensions off of. The 2” core running surface is next. Will probably lay that up Monday.
all of the panels are half laminated. 3 layer 1700 epoxy bagged layup. Exposed core on inside. Going to tab together everything externally. Then do a large layup on the inside of the sponson. Going to run carbon and Kevlar strips between the stringers all the way to the bulkhead. Doing this will bridge the gap and distribute load rather than just having a short seam. Incase we stuff a wave at speed or something.
going to start coming together fast. (I hope) 🤣

First panel bonded on. Got the lip also bonded on as well. We popped the lip off the table when the resin was still green and pre bent it in place to let it full cure in it’s needed shape.
last night we bagged up a 2” core for the running surface and plan to pop that off the table tonight and get it pre bent to post cure in its also full bent shape.
after we get the running surface on, it’s pretty smooth sailing
