I love both of them, if you want twins...go with the 24 handles rougher water than the 21, but the 21 does amazingly well for a 21' boat, and it will run 100 on a single 300HP....that's hard to argue with.

You should ride in both.

Good luck!! Apache has a very nice rig, you should take a closer look at that.

anyone have any idea how well a 21' with twin promax 225 would run and handle?

Re: 24' or 21' for sale

I do know that twin 2.5's push the 21 into the low 120's, but its got to be a little freaky. You could easily run the 225's on a 24' Skater and they would land you right in the 100 MPH range.
If you already have the motors...I'd go with a 24' if you can find one w/o power. They're out there.

A single 300 pushes a 21 right to 100 MPH, some get a little more some slightly less but generally 100.

thanks osprey,
you are the skater man I have read alot of your posts from scream and fly great stuff its helped me make my decide to buy a skater not a sportcat or clone. I am working a deal now for a 21 with a single 225 promax on it. i understand the singles have had lower unit trouble because of the size of the boat at high speeds therefore I had the idea I would buy this one and purchase another 225 and rerig it with twins. How do the 21 with twins handle? The twins dont add to much rear weight? The 24' is a great boat but I have not found any for sale that can be bought at a good price. I already own a 29'fountain too so I was thinking the 21' would be my fun little tear it up and beat the hell out of it boat.

Re: 24' or 21' for sale

You may want to be carefull with that. If the boat was not originally set up for twins, you may need to add some additional transom knees. If the boat your looking at was originally set up for twins, you could have some transom issues. You may want to call SKater to see what they say. Good luck. If I can help you, let me know.

Don't go with a 21 with twins. It will never run the way you want it to. A single 280 or a 300x is the way to go on the 21. If your interested my 24 is for sale. It is probably one of the best one's you find on the market. I have over $45,000 invested into it. I am looking at a 32 Skater
