Just got back from Fl. picking up my 358. I had my 502's made into 540's by innovation marine this summer. They finally got them finished ,590 hp. I had xr uppers put on and replaced the bravo lower gear set with the upgraded 1.25" prop shaft. In doing so they noticed my bravos had a 1" spacer on it. I am not sure why the spacer was there as i bought with boat from sonic used with only 50 hours on it and the five year extended warr., never did anything to it til now. The boat is a 2000 358. Does any one else with the same boat know if they have spacers on there's? The boat is running great 82mph and didn't run it full out yet, but would like to know if anyone else is running the same boat without the spacer. It would probably be a big improvement if i could raise the x dim. the one inch.

I have a 2001 358 with tweaked 500EFI's with a notched transom. I have no spacers, I'm assuming that the X Dimension's are all the same on the 358's. I run a 30" labbed Bravo 4 blade at 5200 RPM's. I don't seem to have any prop bowout.

Some how the factory cut my x deminsion's to high. When I bought my boat it had 1' spacers in it also. After working with Julie at Throttle Up we determined I needed 2' spacers. Boat runs well now. I would leave it alone. The new owners at Sonic are going to try to figure out why the past owners did this. They are going to measure and see just how high or off it is. My guess is when the new ITS drives came out some one thought you could raise your x and get more speed due to the 7" or so set back the ITS's have. WRONG!! If your getting full rpm's and the boat planes easy leave things alone. I went through hell at first with mine.
