Whats everyones opinion on the diff. between the 31 and the 35 ride. better/worse. Or if you had your choice between the two for allround speed, amenties, cockpit size, (and I do know there is a few feet diff) and it was'nt a money issue?

You always want bigger the only way i would own a 35 is if it had ITS boxes on it, I boat on the Cheasapeake and i own a 02 31, rides great love the boat and it can handle anything the bay will throw at it. When i move up it will be straight to the 38 thats the only way you get a bigger cockpit. Two of my buddys had a 35 and the joke always was we knew it was them because the boat was porpasing so bad i have been told that the ITS boxes will fix the issue just my .02 cents

i have a 35ss that i run on the chesapeake and the potomac i have no problems with the ride at all i am pushing a little more power than stock though i have 540's in mine but the ride is great at all speeds and the cabin is much roomier than the 31 all though i do like how the center seat slides out in the 31 you dont get that in the 35 the insurance is also cheaper on the 35

I looked hard at a 31 sonic when I bought my 29 fountain. I owned the Fountain for a year and started looking for a 35 sonic. We ended up buying the 42 sonic offshore had for sale, I would not trade it for anything but another 42. I love the ride and the cabin. I would buy at least the 38, just my02 cents thought.

Bottom line, the 358, 386, 42 will all ride better than the 31. I personally feel going from the 31 into any of the bigger Sonics puts you into a deeper freeboard boat and a better ride. Just the cabin height from the 31 to the 35 is a GREAT difference. The 31 is the big boy of the 26 prowler, 28ss, 31ss class and the 35 is the entry level into the bigger freeboard boats. I'd love to be into the bigger freeboard, but the 31ss is what my pockets could afford and truck can pull up the hills we have here.
When we tested the 31 and 35 in like seas, there was a BIG difference being in the 35....
It didn't take me long to get tired of bending over all the time in our cabin and I dream of a 386 every day were out..
Good luck, you'll love any of the sonics, all the models are AWESOME!!!!
