I was trying to use the shore power this weekend and couldn't seem to get it right.... The light that reads reverse polarity would go on each time I plugged it in....is this supposed to be on? The gauge on the charger didn't budge either.....should'nt that meter move if the charger is on? And yes i am sure we had power at the outlet from the marina....could some one give me a step by step breakdown of using shore power and charging the batteries.......thanks again guys...............................John

That would probably be my guess...check it on a different plug on the next pole over or check it at home on a known good plug. If the light still goes on then its probably wired worng at the panel....either way once its hooked up right (no light on) then you would need to flip the main AC breaker and then the batt charger breaker if it has one for it to start working...

The reverse polarity red light on my 05 358 also comes on with shore power on. I know that the polarity is not reversed in my garage where I sometimes connect the shore power. However, everything seems to work correctly. The boat has had no changes in factory wiring. Could this be a common wiring problem from Sonic???

Hope it works! Nice simple but helpful tread I found in that tread!
