There was one other little project this winter. I had to put a new trailer under the boat due to an axle failure on my Rocket. The 3rd axle came off the trailer at 70 MPH on the freeway when a weld on the mount cracked. So, I decided to go with a painted steel tandem 7K lb axle trailer with EOH brakes from Loadmaster.

Plum, enjoyed this thread. Are you still enjoying the electric trailer winch? I have heard good and bad about them but it would sure make life easier on my long suffering wife!

Don't you love the EOH brakes? One of the best things I ever did.

I actually moved my electric winch from my old trailer to the new one. It works great so long as you use the pulley block that comes with it(not pictured above). I ran a power wire from the battery of my truck to an outlet in the bed. I just plug in a 6' cable from the bed to the winch and power the boat on.

Yes, I'm lovin' the EOH brakes. I'll never own a trailer without them, now.

Thanks for the feedback. I've been wanting to talk to someone that has done this. Do you use just the winch to pull the boat on the trailer or do you use it as an assist and power the boat up the trailer?

I walk the boat on and winch it. My local ramp is very steep. I've found that the v-block bow stop on the new trailer keeps me from getting the boat all the way on. So, I have to pull out and winch the boat another 6".

What model quick disconnects did you use for the speaker wire? I found all the other parts but those.
