Look on Boat Trader for 4PlayMarine. They're here in Austin and have a 28 and a 31 for sale. I looked at the 28...sppoked me a little since it had aftermarket tabs (w/no indicators at all) and two random holes in the transom. Looks like it was originally gonna be a twin SBC and got changed during build to a single 502. If I'd had your budget I would have looked more at the 31...think they want $61.5 and I remember it being pretty clean.

Look at their website and if you want to know more talk to a guy there named JP.

PS...not many Sonics down here so they probably don't have too many people fighting over these boats.

I don't know if he has it anymore but his name is Aaron and was selling a 31 for around the 60's. I was interested but my boat still has not sold. His e mail is [email protected] or try midwestperformancemarine or offshoreperformancemarine.com

Post 28 Sonic

You may want to check out www.offshore-performance.com anyway. We have a 28 instock for 68,000 but you may want to call Hugh Pollock and make an offer on it. I do know that it is a very clean boat.

I love my checkmate but like something a little different I like change and to have something that alot of people don't see all the time I own a house on Sacandaga Lake in NY and do most of my boating there but I do wanter to Lake George twice a year and even the Hudson river on ocassion, Ive looked at alot of boat on the net since I posed this and like the sonics, active thunders, Sunsation, elimanators, apache, warlock and panteras. I'm still doing research but these are at the top of my list. Still need to do high 70's and tryimng to figure the best boat power to get there I really don't want to supercharge twins and I really want twins!! I don't mind putting in cams, heads and intake if I have to but would love to find that speed in stock power

Next how fast is a 28' sonic with twin 350's??

Thanks and keep on giving me places to locate boats anyone in the northeast!!

Talking Sonics

WASSUP, the 28' Sonic with small blocks init should just run in the 70's. Especially trimmed out with the right props onit and 2 or 3 people. The walk around deck is a favorite among the women and kids for getting to the swim platform or putting ropes on when docking. Alot less accidents of falling over on this style boat than some others. Also all the creature comforts are great to. Like a sink with water, a head with room in it, plenty of cabinet space and even shore power in some of the models.

I'll keep looking for ya!

the 26 has a seperate bathroom/shower room so i would imagine all others would. Because of that and me putting a one burner stove in i claimed it on my taxes last year.

As far as 70mph, i am not the one to know that answer, sorry
