45 Sonic is right. Sonics' are not to fond of the Hydromotives. Another thing NOT to do is try to make the boat as fast as it can go by labbing the props. Sonics like some in the prop(talking from experince) . Both Julie & Brett have experince with these hulls and prop combinations. They may be a ittle more time due to shipping but they will get it right the first time.

Can you please elaborate? I don't undertand as my Sonic loves a labbed 28 and I am not the only 31SS owner to observe the same results. Perhaps you don't think the prop is strong enough? Mercury sells factory labbed versions of their props. We should never use them?

I have a set of labbed 28's for sale.

I just leave it with this. Don't lab your props and install nose cones

I guess is what I am trying say is there is a delicate balance between going for all out speed and keeping ride quailty (porpoising ) because you don't have enough cup left in the prop to lift and support the boat at all speeds.

my 01 with HO's runs standard 26 B1's and the boat is loaded down and I see max of 72 maybe 73 at around 4800. I was considering going labbed to get a few more R's out of the motor but everyone I talked to said the HO's love the rpm that I am at so I left it.

I've heard that too about the HO's. I really want to try standard 28's to get my RPM's down and see if I gain anything.

Does anyone know if there is a significant weight difference in '03-up models due to the new build process?

As 45sonic and 45ss said, hydromotives don't work well on Sonics.
I had labbed props by Throttle Up on my old 31SS. They worked well, but being thinner do tend to throw an ear off sometimes. How well lab props work is totally dependent on who did the work. Every one is different, and should be custom set up for the boat they will be used on.
I have standard and labbed 26's for my 386, I'll let you know how they work out.

I ran a set of stock bravo 28's and tacked 4800 at WOT. I went 75.6 on GPS. With what i'm working with 26's should bump me up to 5000-5100 at WOT. Would you guys stay with what I got or would you go to 26's? What I realy love about the 28's is when i'm tacking 3300-3400 i'm going 53-54 MPH.

I would suggest you call Brett at BBlades. We talked for a half hour about Sonic's hull and prop's. It would take me two hours to type in all the things we talked about.
