Just read BBlades thread "BBlades Test Propeller Release" in the Prop Talk forum, sounds like a great deal for those looking at trying a labbed prop. :ernaehrung004:

I actually have lots of experience with speed testing. My previous boat was a little 19 1/2' open bow Baja that ran 79 and 84 on a 125 shot of nitrous. I also have a Waverunner that's hit 80 flat. I took it from 75 to 80 without any engine mods. All the changes were in the hull, ride plate, tabs, and impeller. That was a two year project with a lot of notes. This Sonic is the slowest watercraft I've owned! :D

Cool Plum, nice toys. I'm glad to hear you want to try inward spinning the props. I have wanted to try the same, but it takes time, please keep us posted. Our sonics need help in the speed department, I'm over hear in Sunsation waters and they are fast!

Thanks. Not sure about the "takes time" comment, though. To try it, just swap your props and run the shifter in reverse. If you like it, it's only a shifter cable swap. Bravos can run in both directions, so I've been told.

I actually visited the Sunsation factory last July and got a ride on a new red/white 32' called "Whitness". You probably know the boat. With 3 on board, it ran just over 80 with 496HO's. That boat has A/C, too. I really do like the Sunsations, but the cabin was too tight for the wife's taste. The Sonic was the only other boat we considered.

Sonics are only slow in flat water. Wait for a small craft advisory and then challenge someone to a race!:evilb:

"Gettem" Chris , 45 Sonic can Verify this story. A bar slash restaurant we would go to. As usual all the speed stories come out late at night. We would just point at the boat and say I did not see you pass me on the way down, and it sure is going to feel good with the air on tonight. ( end of stories ). LUXURY PERFORMANCE! I wouldn't trade it.

Tabs all the way up for speed, drive trim will vary with boat and prop selection. Probably the average trim is in the 5.5 to 7.5 range. The number will also depend on how the indicators are adjusted. Use a gps and experiment. I found I was over trimming with my 31. Trimmed down a click and picked up another .2mph. Every little bit counts! Lab props will sometimes require slightly different trim than stock props.
