20th picture that shows the sea strainers. Does it not look as if the starboard side strainer pick up is directly behind it through the bilge floor?

It probably does. My generator and A/C both come through the bilge floor, never had a problem. If you are running in a river or a lake, with varying water levels where it washs sticks and debris off of the banks and shore you will be constanly bending and tearing up water pick-ups off of transom.

I bet both pickups are through the bottom. You just can't see the Port side. My A/C water pickup is also like this. It has a clamshell style grate.

Thanks for bringing this up. I just realized that if I turn that grate around backwards, I'll have less drag. Since I can only run the A/C on shorepower, It doesn't matter what direction it faces.

thanks for explaining......first time I have heard of this. Any known history of issues with hull rot around the pick up?
