386 At Shogrens
Great looking 386 at Shogrens. anybody know the history of the Boat. Has B-Max drives and Hood scoops so I'm thinking it had big power at one time.
How much power do you think it would take to get a 386 to 85-90MPH? |
If this helps. I have heard that a 42 with 700's will go 92. There was a 386 on the Potomac here with 900's in it. It's speeds were said to be 104 to 107, 45 Sonic has driven the 386.

Don't recognize this boat.
May or may not have had bigger power, just may have the Bmax's put on just in case or depending on the condtions it was run in 386 with 900's = 106 mph plus or minus a few depending on water and load. |
Nice boat.

No hyd steering?????

Sonic (Jay Ross) would not sell me a 31 without hydraulic steering ,because the boat would go over 70MPH. That was their rule on any boat. This boat was built when Richard Hewitt was the owner of Sonic. I can assure this boat should run over 70. I have driven 42's that ran over 70 with 500 carb motors. That was a good catch, I did not notice that. Fountain40icbm is right ITS requires no hydraulic rams.

Its the boat that Hot boat mag did the test on years ago I believe. If so if sat outside rotting away in FL for year with and wothout a cover. Half the time with no motors or drives, then it had drives, then it had motors, ect.......you get the picture.

I'm not crazy about the black dash and panels.
Anyone know what the 4 thru hull fittings between the exhausts are? http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...es/35948_2.jpg |
