A friend of mine has a 2002 prowler with a 525hp and 26p bravo1. Best speed we have seen so far on gps is 72mph.

Someone is dreaming here. This boat won't hit 80 unless your pushing about 900 hp. :drink: Then you better have a drive that will take the power and weight of a tank. The boat seems to run the best in a two ft chop.

I agree. Prowler is built for comfort and not for speed. But that is the reason I got it. At 63 years young I'm more interested in comfort then speed. I got tired of the Scarab bouncing me around like a cork in foot to 18" chop.

But, I'll still probably get a Procharger supercharger next fall and install over the winter to maybe get 65 to 70 MPH out of it. $5,000 is a lot to pay for an extra 10 to 12 MPH but I have spent $5,000 on worse things.

I not getting in pissing match. What I do know for a fact is I'm pushing 630 hp with 690 lbs of torque. With a b1 26 I see 5100 rpm and 70 to 71 on gps. So if your picking up 10 mph with 50 more hp, please tell me your secert and what I need to change. I was disappointed when I only saw 70. Are you running a shorty? Wanted to try one, but never did.

Had my 26 out Saturday with new Livorsi GPS speedo installed. Only the second time out since I got the boat in January. I'm finding out that getting this boat on plane is a hand full compared to my 22 Scarab.

Stock 502 with 22P B1 turning 4800 @ WOT. K-Planes set between 4 & 5 on plane just before it porpoises with the OD trimmed for max RPM and speed. With 100 gal. of gas (600 lbs.), 20 gal of water (160 lbs.) and the squeeze and me (350 lbs. total) , I barely got it to 58. Water was dish pan cam.

When I went out back in March for the first time the water pressure speedo read 66 MPH and that was with no water, 6" to 10" chop and about 40 gal of gas.

8 MPH difference in water pressure and GPS.

'96 Scarab 22

With a stock 502 I got 5200 rpms with the 22p and see about 66-67 on the speedo(not GPS). Ive found the boat runs better with about 6"-12" of chop. Ive run the trim all the way to about 8-9 without porpoising(not everytime). From 4-5trim to 8-9 trim can be 5mph or better. I also run with less than a half tank of fuel and no water. Those numbers are with me plus 1 of the homies.

I have a GPS now. I will post my numbers on here when I get it out and the difference between water pressure speedo and GPS. Still waiting on the heads. Should be here next week. Hopefully! Im optimistically aiming for an early to mid June test run.

I cant agree with some of yalls figures on here unless the water pressure speedo on my boat is way high. Ive paced with other boats and gotten figures close to mine if not dead on. I think a lot has to do with the driver and working the trim/outdrive and a set of balls doesnt hurt either. I dont see why I cant get 76-79mph with my setup. I could be wrong.

Being a fellow Sonic owner I feel your pain but it is well known that these are hard boats to make fast. The reason we buy them is they are solid, fun and safe in rough water. Good Luck

What power are you trying to see 76- 79 with? My dream meter is anywhere between 5 - 7 mph difference with GPS depending on the wind, tides, and current. I checked my gps with the gps on my phone. Both the saame.

With about 630hp. Bottom line is as long as I see 10mph more on my water pressure speedo ill consider this a successful build.
