I am trying to replace the navigation light on the front of the boat and am not sure if you have to remove the mirror on the inside and if so what all do I need to remove to do this

Mirror is just held in place by trim that is screwed in place. I don't know what style nav light you have, but I would be surprised if it is serviced from the back side.
