Paint type on older Sonic

Does anyone know the type of paint used in 87? ie Imron,base/clear coat.
I'm having the small nicks and scratches touched up, and I'd like to be sure of type before the painter make a mistake.

Doubt there was any clear coat back then.......otherwise I would figure a knowledgable painter would know what was on it.
