Default Boat cover for 42ss

I have tried to contact linda at Sonic and have been unable to get a answer. So I thought I would ask here. I am looking for a full cover for the Sonic would it be better to have one made or does the factory have them in stock.
Thanks
David

I think the covers from the factory are a little on the thin side, I would have one made. I don't think you can get one with the snaps installed from the factory because they are all custom to the boat. I tried a friends cockpit cover on my boat, snaps didn't line up (both 31SS, 1 year apart)

I have tried to get info out of the Sonic Factory several times. Might as well talk to the wall. I talked with Offshore Performance in Grasonville, Md about a cover 8mths or so ago, but that was with Frank Marchone. He told me any color I wanted, takes a while to get, & would be about $2500.00 for a full cover. I also was left with the impression that it was thin. My cockpit cover is not made out of the same material that as is currently available on the new models, as I am told the current cockpit cover is more of a dust cover and is not really water proof. My cockpit cover is waterproof ! No water gets thru at all. Its not canvas, not sure what it is. Kinda plasticky, but thick and tough.

If you want a full cover Fisher Boat Boat Covers in NJ.... will custom make you a cover, that will cover the entire boat down to the Chines. They tell me it is more of a storage cover than just a cover, & it is heavy. Made out of cotton canvas. Dont know if colors are available.
They quoted me a cost of about $12-1400.00 for one for my 42.
That included the arch.

There was guy selling a full cover for a 42 on here and at CPBPA.com, under the for sale section, but he wanted $2500.00 for it. I inquired if price was negotiable, he said no.

Try Fisher @ www.Fishercanvas.com or @ 800-892-6688, 609-239-2733. They require a 50%deposit and will ship the cover balance prepaid or C.O.D. Advise can have the cover in about a month. Seemed to be knowledgable & very friendly helpful. apparently they have a book or something with dimensions of several makes of boats, that they can go off of, or they will come to you depending on location to take measurments. Since I was reasonably close, they said they could come to me.

Get ahold of them and see what they have to say. Let us know what you find. Good Luck !

I got mine in 01 for a 42 from the factory for $2000 and it's great all the way to the keel it's a lot thicker than the stock cockpit cover the place I got the boat wanted 3500 for the same cover.

LOR, does your boat have an arch ? If so does the cover have pockets for items on the arch ? Also how long did it take to get ? Was it available in different colors or just one color ?

no arch, they asked me what color I wanted, I said purple and got it. I went down on vacation for 2 weeks and left my truck and trailer there when I came back to get my truck it was in the back. I think they really hooked me up,it's a nice two peice with big heavy duty zippers, and after last week showed me it can hold a lot more snow than the support rod.

Thanks for the info. I would rather have a colored cover. My cockpit had atleast 2ft snow on it. It held fine for days, till I got around to clearin it off.
