I really don't know about the one's that old, but it might just be that they revamped the cabin or cockpit and changed the # if the boat was a 34'6" and they changed everything on the inside they call it a 35 so people knew it was a diff. boat. I don't think they would make a whole new boat only one foot longer, but you may want to talk to them or some of the old school sonic guy's. I know on the new one's the 45&42 have the same cabin the 45 is just bigger in the cockpit so it fit's trip's better. the 386&358 have the same cabin but you can put trip's or a gen. in the 386, and I think the 31&28 have the same cabin.

I just looked at the trader online site they only have one 34ss in there and no inside pics, if that is the one you are looking at, I would go with the a newer 31 with better power. For about the same money. They have a 94 with 502-415 efi witch is a lot nicer than the 454 365 the 34ss has. I don't think you will have much of a diff. in ride, newer is almost aways better when it come's to boats.

It's a great rough water boat, but anything 35 feet and under is going to get bumpy in any waves over 4 feet. I dont know how ebay work's on boats but most bank's won't lend on a boat without a survey and unless you got the cash don't they only give you like ten days to pay for it. I don't think I would buy a 1989 boat without touching it and getting a survey.
