I just looked at the 89 34ss on ebay it is the same one on trader online. It look's nice in the pic's, but I still think I would go to a newer 31 with 502 efi motor's if I wanted to stay around 50k.Just my .02

I have been on, not ridden in the water, both boats. Basically what everyone said is true. The 34 is the new 35. The 35 has updated items as do all boats as time moves forward. Basically the same boat with updates.

As LOR said, most lending institutions require surveys prior to lending on a boat. Regardless, I would recommend getting a survey done on any boat prior to purchase, especially a go fast boat, as most have really been " Run ". You are not only protecting yourself, but the bank too.

With the Survey you will find any problems that may be hidden or not visable to the eye. Ensures you have a sound investment.

BTW, as far as I am aware Sonic made a Hull change in 95, atleast on 42's. Just what I have been told by several sources. Do not know if this applys to other models. Sonic makes a nice boat, good ride, comfortable & very stable. You cant go wrong as long as the survey comes out ok......

In 1990 most manufactures started counting the swim platform for overall length. Prior to 1990 they didn't count the platform in the lenght of the boat. Sonic changed there model names in 1991 but not there hulls. Same boat. The 30ss is now the 31, the 34ss is now the 35 and the 41ss became the 42ss.

We bought a 1990 34ss last fall. Rides awesome in rough water....no pounding....soooft landings. Been in 7' seas and loved it! From what I have seen, boat has changed very little 'till 358's came out.
