Hatch Screens
#2
I ordered the large screens Bomar sells. Bomar makes hatches with tabs the screens snap into. As my hatches didn't have these I installed the male portion of a snap upside down on the retaining screws for the hatch. They hold the screens nicely! I'll post a pic when I get a chance.

We use HatchMaster custom soft screens that you drop OVER the open hatch. You can do this from inside of course.
They are really great for our 30SS as you can stand up and look outside within the screens. They have a chain around the bottom but it is not enough, you must clamp them from inside with two giant clothspegs or something similar. The open back of the hatch works to keep the back of the screens from being blown around.
When not needed, they roll/scrunch up to take very little space.

HATCHMASTER 603 868-5720 Not sure what they cost, but likely cheaper than the flat screens and worth every penny.
Make sure you ask for the screens to be made at a 45 degree angle so they slope down to the deck from the top of the open hatchs.
Fantastic, had ours for about five years of heavy use, still scrunch up to fit within your palm. Could not wait to throw out the silly flat screens that fit under the hatchs. They broke easily, took up space when not in use, and you can't stand up with them in place.
