Ran out of time for this year. It's one of the first things on the list for next spring. I would like to get a WOT run before removing just for comparison and that is why I didn't get to it this fall. It's going to be a long winter...

I know that a lot of you already know this, but for the sake of those who don't......here is picture of your Grandfather.
My 38 foot banana boat was the first boat out of the mold. I paid for the tooling and worked with JC Simon on the design.
JC Simon and I shared this mold and pulled 38's and 34's out of the same mold. I sold my boats as "banana boats" and he sold his as Coyote's. Some boats even carried both names.
Eventually we got out of the business and Sonic bought this mold and it became the base for the 38 up to 42 foot boats that you now have. Look closely at the strakes and you can see they never changed them, as they were just about perfect from the beginning.

Charlie, I've just been on your web site and Thank you for such great documentation. I need to revisit to read more of the articles. Makes me wish I had a 38 or 42. Did your Banana boats have the same sharp edges on the hull as Sonics? I've heard that the 31SS hull was from Donzi.
Charlie I wish you great success with your 2008 Banana boat.

Sorry about the delay, I was away in South Florida...race time ya know.
Yes, the edges were always very sharp on our boats....I don't think the bottoms were ever changed from the original concept.
As far as the 31, I'm sorry I don't know anything about the origin of that design.
Thanks for your good wishes....hopefully we will be at the Miami show with something very interesting.
