Welcome to the Sonic family!

I totally redid my 1988 Sonic, the company used to be fantastic to get parts from and Jay spent a lot of time on the phone with my restoration guys. Thanks Jay and crew where ever you are.

The entire cockpit floor is removable to change out the fuel tanks. remove the rubber mat or carpet in your case, and you will see the screws holding it down. the bilge is not accessible under the tanks, only under the cabin floor by removing the fridge and looking under the floor. You will see the tube drain for the bilge exiting into the engine compartment.

Can't help you on the waste tank, as I don't have one. Under the head floor?

The 23's are the ticket for the older Sonics like mine the X is too deep for a 4 blade the 23's will be fine just get them labbed.

Hey Dyno, I had the X raised an inch on my 1988 then put on 24 pitch labbed Bravos as per Jay at Sonic.

We're waiting on our new GPS to arrive. Hoping weather breaks so we can get out again. Might not be until memorial day weekend as we'll be in Florida for early May... Have to work on our tan!!!! We're going to hit Raliegh, Orlando and Tampa....

CBR what did it take to raise the X???did you fill the transom and start over? that would be a biotch. What gains did you get? I wish i had the scratch for some Imco lowers but not his year!

Chris Reindl's crew at "Batboats" did the job, well done too I must say. Raised the X when swapping the 260 HP motors for the 350 HP Scorpions, so there really is not a good comparison of speed gains. Even with the upgrades, I think I gained less than eight miles an hour. Don't know why, but perhaps it had to do with swapping the thin alphas for the beefier bravo drives.

I Have a 02 31 with 496 mags and K&N filters that is turning 26 labs, it can just touch the rev limiter with two people and 1/2 full of fuel

Good to know Sloman, I think I could use the 26, as I really have to hammer mine to get up on plane with my higher X. Perhaps I'll test some this summer.

Dyno, perhaps you should check with Reindl as they did the work. My scorpion motors just barely clear the engine hatch lights with the raised X, so you will want to think about doing this if you have carb motors, not sure they will fit. Of course, that is a good excuse for engine hatch scoops. <gg>

I'd need to add scoops to clear the hatch, after market intakes and spark arresters hit the cover now.....
