We got it fixed. The distributer gear was stripped, so no spark. We think it may not have been installed incorrectly, or the hold down screw could of just come loose. The new motors only had 15 hours on them. Derebery reset the distributer and checked the timing so she is running now. Probobly pull the oil pan in the spring to get the metal shavings out.

We found this problem by pulling the distributer cap and turning the motor over. The distributer wouldn't spin.

TxHawk 11-04-2009 05:23 PM

I should be all set to pull engines in the next couple weeks. Picked up the beam today.

One of our shop areas in Odessa is slow this week so I am comming back with a slick new drive(s) stand and engine stand.

Amazing what you can do before noon on Saturday... when you get an early start.

Thanks for the tips VV. They look much better.
New drive stand needs some modification, so I had to go with lumber.

Oh, dont worry, I blamed Andy also. U missed a fun day of drive removal :lolhit: Forgot just how heavy those BMAXS are and it slipped out of my hands. Dont worry though, the skeg landed on my foot causing me to use a bunch of profanitys. Alls well, gotta replace a lower shift cable on one side and leon has the evil foot killer drive replacing a seal. If the weather keeps up, i may be back to boating shortly....:lolhit:

Just remebered, I have a radar gun that i check trains with. Maybe next year when we all get together we can have our own radar run. May be fun.
