MobileMercMan and I will be out for a spin tomorrow. Anybody else going for a boat ride?

boatntrkr 01-17-2010 04:08 PM

well, just got back from the boat show...or should i say wakeboard boat show....1 30ft outlaw and a 42ft fountain...thats all the highperformance boats there was...If I had to guess, 100 wakeboard/ski boats...is it just me or are those things a bit overpriced?

Hope you guys had a good time out there. Needs to hit like mid 70's before I will go. Had to stay home today and install new garage door opener and the tabs are ready to go back on the boat, and just a few more stereo touch ups and I think I am close to finished. Did I say finished, I don't think that thing is ever finished. :grinser010:

I don't know about Jim, but I had a great time. He let me try one of his props and the boat put up a new number. :party-smiley-048:

Developed an ignition problem so we putted home. Was nice to be on the water in shorts and a t-shirt though.

You know. I was thinking the same darn thing about some of those boats. We liked the Arc Audio sound Demos.

yea, we were looking at the 30ft baja since you couldnt get in the fountain and the arc audio was playing jets flying over and a bunch of bass...it did for sure sound sweet...

Most of those ski/wakeboard boats were 60k+...a couple were almost 100k...the 30ft baja with twins was 150k...seems to me you get ALOT more boat with the 30ft baja then a 20ft wakeboard boat.

Some of the bass boats were pretty cool -- but also a bit steep on the cash-o'-meter.

HTRDLNCN 01-23-2010 02:52 AM

HTRDLNCN 01-23-2010 08:22 PM

From what I have been told Legend Marine will not be at show thise year, which means no cigs, fountains, donzis, formulas or eliminators will be at the show.
Think I will pass on it this year..
:(

LCRA is posting 663-664 by next week. Its at 659 right now.
Its only about 10ft off normal for this time of year and by next week we will be within 5ft of normal. I would stay off lake until it stops raining/rising,I walked around this morning and saw lots of loose debris/trees/stuff floating around .

robyw1 01-29-2010 03:14 PM

Just cracked the 660 mark. 10 more feet and were in good shape. :)

HTRDLNCN 01-30-2010 11:11 AM

662.15 and rising at 11am 1/30/09

aTX427 01-31-2010 03:47 PM

Looks like we may have a lake this season.

HTRDLNCN 02-02-2010 09:44 PM

664 and rising and a rainstorm on way tommorow,we may flood yet.
Gotta love TX,, Difference between drought and flood is just a couple months.

HTRDLNCN 02-04-2010 10:11 PM

667 and rising

In2Deep 02-05-2010 12:38 PM

Appears we are on track to reach "seasonal average" elevation on Travis sometime late this weekend. I'm going to watch this closely....and if we do....it's Tequila shots on the balcony to celebrate.

Griswald 02-06-2010 09:03 AM

669.39 this morning. That's a full 10' since last Friday.
I suspect the continued runoff will bring it up at least another foot and more rain in the forecast. C'mon El Nino!

In2Deep 02-06-2010 09:21 AM

...and I'm happy to report that as of this morning, at the Rough Hollow bend, the island turned small sandbar turned big sandbar turned jutting shoreline from the low point....is now completely submerged. Not even a small island anymore.
Big milestone.

Correction: My field reporter apparently over-enthusastic; current statis is not quite completely submerged, but is back to a small island

At this level is where newbies get into trouble, they think they can cut the corners in the lake forgetting that a week before those "corners" were rock peninsulas..
:)

boatntrkr 02-06-2010 08:00 PM

ive allways cruised around slowly when the lake is really low...so when it goes up at various stages i know where i can and cant run...

Most people arent as smart as you, they learn the hard way.
I bought the Lake Travis nav charts for my GPS before I even moved here, and I come from an ocean backgroud and you dont go anywhere offshore without having the right nav charts.

Thanks buddy! It looks like you guys are almost back to normal lake levels! Can't wait to make it back up there when it warms up!
