Default DFW Area Performance Rebuild

I have a 2001 Fountain with factory 500 EFIs that needs a freshen-up and may need some head work done. Can someone recommend who to take it to? I'm familiar with Derebery in Pottsboro but wondered if there was another place I should consider?

For the marine side DFW really has not much to offer on the HP side of the coin. My first call would be to Bob Madera. at Marine Kinetics and see what he might be able to work on for you if you shipped heads and intake or the longblock to him. If not then I would get on the horn with Reher & Morrison located in Arlington. They really are probable the best in the state of Texas and could handle a ground up Marine build. Next would be Dennis Wells in Duncanville TX. That's the order and route I would go.

Rwbrew Yes still OOMH and on the road calls - this week Cedar Creek - next week Texoma. House is packed with the REC boat users in the area as they just came out of the wood work. The sun is finally out and so are they now.

I hate to say this as I think I did before - I do have full access to a machine shop to do what I want to after hours. I have done a lot of my own stuff and others as well but I do not own any part of it and some of the equipment is getting old and some maybe a little tired, if you know what I mean.

My main focus now is EFI / MPI & tuning and really nailing down the catalyst stuff from all the OEM's marine side and a little on the auto side to. Also working with the marine dealers and my fuel injection flow testing and cleaning service . I have a good marine dealer base already for that but it would be nice an all year round service of that alone.

Did you need something or questions ? just asking

It costs a fortune to house those big boats while the motors are out . At the end of the day 2 vortecs bring around the same money as one 30+ footer hp500 540 ect . And i can build a vortec out of ravaged dumster scraps that will live forever .as well as a 540 ,428 scj ect .doin like bup building my own stash and grandfathered in cust rod stuff. Mike cain is prob only other guy besides r-h local unless lingenfelters shop is still there off trinity mills
Thats a october november kind of job for me .come on friday come back and get your boat on sunday and dont call me ill call you.prob in febuary . and the door is locked when im working on motors.
Getting real slim on engine guys in tbese parts . Mike is in plano closer to east dfw . Prob wont be interested in the r+r though .

Rick thanks for asking. I just got busy as the lakes are up now but most likely won't last all summer or fall. I got out of my dealership / service shop last year but still climbing in boats working on them. Very hard to make money here anymore being in the boat business as a full blown dealership located in a major market for buildings & land to meet all those bills especially in drought and then employee theft on top of. Killed me . You are welcome to call me anytime.
