Hello All-

I just found out that we will not be able to join you on May 10th for your fun run. We have an event called the Canoe Races here in naples that same day. The actual race is in the morning but the party on Keywadin Island is the best boat party in SWFL and it goes thru the night.

We are interested in comming up some weekend, but there is no way that we are going to miss this party!!!!!! If you can make it down here May 10th you will not be disappointed!

I don't have anything else in mind, looks like the turn out will be small, which is ok. So it will just be a day on the water, none of the bells and whistles.

I do have a line on the Radar if we ever want to do that, but of course there is a fee involved.

JetJock 04-30-2008 10:44 AM

Looks like the Un-friendly skies got friendly and gave me the 10th off.....Will be running with you guys!

If there ever was a weekend to go to Keywadin this is the weekend. There are well over 100 boats tied up, stripper poles in the sand and it turns into one big party. Every other weekend is boring compared to the Canoe Races.

JetJock 05-03-2008 08:58 PM

How many boats signed up so far??????

rchevelle71 05-03-2008 09:34 PM

What time do we plan to start this run, and from what area?

Xray50 05-04-2008 03:30 PM

U still going to follow me up? I know the lake and the Hickory Point ramp. We'll find Jack and Barry. I know where Venetian Gardens is.
We'll be in the water by 8:30..

Xray50 05-04-2008 03:31 PM

Jack. Where we going to meet you? Where are you putting in?

Yeah,

4 am was just seeming kinda early, wondering what time we were starting.

Xray50 05-05-2008 02:32 AM

Ok. Lets see what time Jack and Cav are going to be on he water.

rchevelle71 05-05-2008 06:02 PM

Possible change in Plans.........

since I will be throttling a class 5 boat in OPA at Ocean city the end of the month, Trent may bring the fountain, and get me some seat time during the run. Are there any speed limits on the Lake??

Xray50 05-05-2008 06:40 PM

No speed limits!

Jack and I have been trying to figure out a plan......

How about we plan on putting in around 10:00 at Buzzard's Beach boat ramp (off of 441 in tavares on lake eustis) and just meet up on the water outside of the boat ramp around 10:30 (if you want to put in somewhere else)???

Not really sure what to do about lunch..... what does everyone think about just bringing your own lunch and rafting up off of the island on lake harris?? The only other places to eat with enough dockage are Crazy Gator's on Lake Eustis and Harborside on the Dead River.... neither of which have been very good in terms of food or service lately.

Suggestions? Comments??

Crazy Gators would be my vote. I thought the food was a.o.k...? Lots of dockage and we could take a lot of pictures etc... I really don't want to pack food....but I will pack beer :}

Randy

JetJock 05-06-2008 05:47 PM

Docks at Crazy Gators...

(I ment to post a pic...but the file is too large..) Anyway they have lots of dock space!

My two cents....

27Fountain 05-06-2008 06:13 PM

Gators works for me.

Xray50 05-07-2008 01:44 AM

Gators works for me also. Putting in at Hickory. Will meet you by Buzzard's boat ramp.

rchevelle71 05-07-2008 07:49 AM

Not sure where we will put in yet, but will figure that out. We WILL be bringing the 29 F-1 Fountain, Trent was pretty siked that the CAVelocity will be there:D Which is the closer ramp coming from Melbourne, that will accomodat a 29 fountain?

Ray,

I am going to go up to melbourne after work Friday and make sure that all is good to go with the boat at Trents place, and meet everyone at the lake by 10 AM Saturday.

As for lunch, as long as they have food, its good for me:D

Xray50 05-07-2008 09:10 AM

From the responses on this thread, looks like about 10 boats.

Rick, I'll defer to the other guys to answer you on the ramp. I have no problems at Hickory Park but Buzzards is just 5 miles further up on ST Rd 19 in Tavares. With the Fountain you may want to put in there.

Boostable 05-07-2008 09:15 AM

Rick,

I would say for you Buzzards Beach is the ramp you want. That is the same one CA and I and several others will be using. The water level makes them all a little touchy, but you should be fine.

I agree with CA, food has not been stellar at Gator, but they do have the best dockage (its actually city of Eustis docks). There are also several other restaurants withing walking distance of those docsk. Gators is the closest.

Right now if everyone shows I think we will have between 10-12 boats out on the lake!

Should be fun!!!

Cool,

We'll see ya there:D

ZBODaytona 05-07-2008 09:20 AM

I should be there as well. I am also pretty sure CA and I have a few friends that aren't on the board coming as well. Should be a good little turn out. I just hope my boat starts, going to find out tonight.

I hear you already whimped out!

You can crew on mine...always welcome and you know that!

rchevelle71 05-07-2008 12:34 PM

Who can get me directions, or a map to the Buzzard Beach ramp, I cant seem to find much online.

ZBODaytona 05-07-2008 01:01 PM

It is off Highway 441 just west of tavares located on lake eustis. If you were to pull up tavares on mapquest it will show the ramp as some land sticking out into the lake just to the west of downtown on highway 441 If you click onto the aerial image it will show the parking lot....hope that helps

Just remember that my boat is a "retired" race boat...... scantily clad women is the first priority..... and then speed is second!!!

That works too:D

Kinda like my Pantera:D

Thanks for the map.

Xray50 05-07-2008 01:35 PM

There should be a few boats there able to give the fountain a good workout!!!!

F1-00 Racing 05-07-2008 03:20 PM

few questions after seeing the overhead of the map, I have a gated trailer that is approx 40 ft then add my truck is there enough room for parking?

Secondly, how is marine patrol up there? My boat being an active race boat does not have FL #'s and I was informed locally here that as long as I had all my safety equipment and was in "test mode" I am legal, but we all know that different areas interpet the law differently.

Cav I have all the love in the world for ya and just want to play, I have the Benny boat that did 89 in the kilos even with the new x it still cruises at 85, but since you have your priorities I will slow down to admire your upholstry lol:p

Hopefully we can pull this off and look forward to meeting ya'll and having a great fun and more importantly a safe day of boating

Trent

Trent,

if the reg# thing is going to be a problem, I will drag up the pantera, and we can try to break it.

JetJock 05-07-2008 04:46 PM

We ran around Lake Harris a couple of weekends ago and we made COMPLETE AZZ's of oursleves and NEVER saw a Marine Patrol dude ever...not saying we won't again but I think they are not in that GREAT of numbers on LAke Harris.

Burn em up!

F1-00 Racing 05-07-2008 04:50 PM

I'll leave my account info somewhere in the house, and if we do get busted, Jen can come up and bail us out:party-smiley-004: I'll never hear the end of it though:D
