Help with Lanier and Allatoona boat ramps.

We did the public ramp at Aqualand and left the truck overnight there. We stayed at Holiday again in 6-22 which is becoming our "usual". With the lake 4' down right now the Aqualand ramp was good. Access was easy and functionality was very practical for a 42' or more boat.
We met some more Formula owners who have docks right near the public ramp there. Cool 292 has a new owner there and I invited him to check us out here.
Two pizzers this weekend were getting over the railroad tracks to make it to Aqualand and running out of gas. The guage showed 1/8th and the engines ran out and died. Had to swim the boat on the trailer and fortunately we ran out of gas at about 100 yards from the ramp.

The ramp straight ahead you say? I will have to look at that one. It didn't seem like there was room to get out of there when I had the 357 but I didn't walk the whole thing off. The approach road was tight for this long trailer.

The only advise I have for you is when using public ramps like big creek that are tucked away off the beaten path is park your truck so your trailer is secure. We had our triple axle trailer for our old 292 stolen from big creek launch ramp a couple years ago and they did it in the middle of a sunday afternoon and had plenty of time to drill the locks off of my hitch and tongue to get it!
Unfortunately places like this get real quiet during the afternoons when everybody is out having fun and are not patrolled very often during the day even though big creek is monitored by Lanier islands security

Wow, thanks for that info. I use locks on my hitch and trailer tongue too but as they say, that only keeps the honest people away.

We have launched form the Aqualand public boat ramp a few times now. This ramp does not come up in "lanier boat ramp" searches but it has easy room to get in and out with a 42 foot boat. So far we have used this ramp more than others and like it's access and convenience.
