Default Amelia Isand or Sanibel Island?

We are wanting to take my in laws to Florida for their 40th wedding anniversary. We plan on going the last week of April into 1st week of May. We will not be boating, just relaxing. My question is where would be a better place for vacation?

Never been to Amelia Island but since its on the Atlantic side of things i would say to go to Sanibel....the waters warm in the Gulf...the beaches are nice white sand...tons of shells to collect and the island is VERY quiet and layed back...at least the time that we were there

Water quality sucks these days. 50/50 chance of red tide.

Amelia Island has a golf course if they are into that, they used to have horses you could ride on the beach. Both are nice, Sanibel is more tropical.

Yes. And now the East coast is getting what we have had to put up with for the last 20 years.

Phukin Big Sugar and the farms and runoff have destroyed the Gulf in the last 20 years. Used to look like the Keys 35 years ago.

They should make Lake O. A big holding pond to water Golf courses and lawns with. Pumps and redo ours to very town within a 100 miles.

Drain that Cesspool of all the phosphates.
