I’m in Naples and likely need a top end rebuild on my 525s. Any suggestions on where I should have it done? My normal mechanic doesn’t have the time or the experience. The boat is a Formula 400ss with 400 hrs. Thanks!

I can do it for you if you can't find anyone. Is the boat on a lift or trailer?

Thanks. It’s on a rack at Hamilton Harbor Yacht Club. I don’t have a trailer so the work would have to be done there. You’ve done the top of 525s before? I think I’ll also replace the CMI headers with Hardin Marine Seaward exhaust at the same time. Thoughts on that?

Unfortunately I have done a few. Replacing the exhaust is a good idea, especially on a saltwater boat. The newer headers are better than the early 525 headers, but all of them will eventually leak and possibly take an engine out.
