Default Cape, Fort Myers

Is anything up and running in the Fort Myers area? Hotels, restaurants etc.
We have spent a lot of time in that area over the last 10 years and would like to return. I know hurricane Ian was devestating to the area but I hope recovery is fast.
IF anything is open let me know.

Thanks

Ron

No I was just down there again a couple days ago. If things are up and running in a year we will be lucky. All beaches and boat ramps are closed.Their still clearing debris and haven’t even gotten to the demolition.

All the beach restaurants and bars other than Lani Kia rooftop are wiped out, but Lani Kia probably won’t be able to open until late spring.

salty Sams has cleared out most of the wrecked docks but there is still a few sunk boats.

In Naples there are beaches open at the end of the avenue but all the boardwalks are destroyed.

the water quality just received approval last week for swimming.

Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel, Captiva and Pine Island still in pretty rough shape. Cape has most of their boat ramps open. Most marinas are still messed up. A few on the water restraunts open. Dockage in most cases I believe very limited. Naples is better shape. Not sure how Marco made out. So sad!

I boated down to Ft Myers beach yesterday. It is a ghost town down there. You can find things open at Punta Gorda as well as Naples

You have to see the devastation to believe it. So many heavily damaged businesses and houses remain untouched due to insurance issues or are being declared structurally unsound.

We've been to FMB a lot of times. We had 4 houses rented over Christmas - New Years....all 4 are literally gone. We are headed to Siesta Key now. Looking forward to seeing a new area but from what I understand there are no bars/restaurants on the water there which surprises me.

Siesta key and Anna Maria Island are fully open for business. Plenty of restaurants on the water. Let me know if you need suggestions!!!

Link loops to several videos for great coverage of a terrible situation.
Main Drone Footage at the biggining is pretty clear of their loses.
